Sustainability

Relaxshoe is aware of the challenges that the future holds for our planet and our society.
The company has incorporated environmental and social issues into its business for years and has decided to make sustainability one of the main pillars of its mission.
WE TAKE CARE OF OUR PLANET

Relaxshoe has already begun several years ago to initiate the first environmental sustainability projects by creating a photovoltaic system at the Italian headquarters and sourcing, for the remaining needs, only energy produced from renewable sources.
In recent years, we have also actively intervened in our foreign laboratories with significant and ongoing efforts to build a photovoltaic system in Bosnia, as in Italy.
This work, completed in 2023, was finalized and became operational in April 2024.
This allows us to cover 10% of our energy needs, while for the remaining 90%, we have resorted to purchasing green energy.
Therefore, from May 1, 2024, the facilities of our subsidiaries, Amika d.o.o. and Relaxshoe Bosna D.o.o., will consume only green energy.
In all the group's facilities, we have replaced neon lighting with new LED technology and have made improvements to enhance the insulation of work environments.
A monitoring system for consumption has been installed on all injection machines and related equipment to optimize electricity use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Since 2020, we have participated in certified offsetting activities, climate change mitigation tools supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), identified by the United Nations.
The birth of these Goals dates back to 2015 and is well explained on the official website dedicated to them.
These are 17 common goals, articulated in 169 “targets,” set by the international community (all 193 UN member countries) to promote the sustainable development of the planet, with the aim of achieving them by 2030.
These Goals belong to all countries and every individual in the world and have been adopted and embraced by all those involved in "development" in a broad sense.
By "development" in a broad sense, we mean development cooperation, but also the development of one's own communities, economic and social development, and environmental sustainability.

3- Bundled Wind Power Project in Tamilnadu, India VCS1353
The main objective of the project is to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development through the use of renewable energy; by improving national electricity availability, the project contributes to political goals of increasing the use of renewable sources.

BENEFITS AND ACHIEVED OBJECTIVES

The project has been developed in Pemba, the largest city in the Cabo Delgado province, Mozambique.
The country is one of the poorest in the world due to the recent jihadist insurgency that has caused the flight of thousands of people, further increasing the population's poverty.

The project aims to reduce the poverty of its inhabitants by promoting the introduction of about 10,000 low-impact stoves, thus providing various benefits for families and local communities in addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to climate change mitigation.

Furthermore, in order to make our significant contribution to achieving these important sustainable development goals,

RELAXSHOE HAS CHOSEN TO UNDERTAKE A SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYSIS PATH TO BETTER UNDERSTAND AND EVALUATE THE COMMITMENT OF SUPPLIERS REGARDING SUSTAINABILITY.

The company has decided to monitor and engage all stakeholders involved in the business activity, paying particular attention to its supply chain, integrating their assessment with environmental, social, and Governance (ESG) aspects in order to achieve an increasingly fruitful commitment to combating climate change.

From an environmental perspective, much of the production impacts are attributable to the phases of raw material sourcing, processing, and product sales, as well as the social aspects and labor management of suppliers representing one of the main concerns for companies.

In our sector, we find that customers and consumers are increasingly attentive to the sustainability criteria of their purchases. For this reason, we believe that a thorough assessment of the supply chain is essential for reducing business risks and ensuring an ethical approach to our business model, aimed at avoiding the outsourcing of environmental and social impacts.

A SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN IS IMPLEMENTED TO LIMIT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACTS OF SUPPLIES

The supply chain, regardless of the number of suppliers, requires an approach based on monitoring the performance of the involved parties, so as to guide purchasing decisions based on accurate and updated information.

ESG criteria (Environment, Social, Governance) are the basis of the indicators that allow for the analysis of companies' activities from the perspective of integrated sustainability. It should be noted that the ability of companies to achieve international and local sustainable development goals ensures positive effects on the planet and people, but also positively impacts corporate profits. Conversely, a lack of willingness or inactivity of companies in pursuing goals in this area can negatively affect their stakeholders and, in particular, the entire supply chain.

OUR CODE OF CONDUCT

Lastly, we highlight a significant effort that our company has made in drafting and disseminating its Code of Conduct to all those involved in our business activities (stakeholders).
